William “Bill” Everett Walters, devoted son of the late Arthur W. Walters, III and Lorraine E. Walters (nee Elliott) was born July 23, 1954 in Baltimore, Maryland. He departed this life on September 10, 2020. Bill received his education from the Archdiocese of Baltimore Catholic school system and he later enlisted into the U.S. Army on May 7, 1977. He worked his way up from Private to a Sergeant and became a skilled marksman while serving. He toured throughout the world and served his country in Germany, Colorado, Fort Ritchie, MD and Fort Dix, NJ. Bill worked in the Grog Shop, where he met Alvina Marie Colkley in 1974 and later married her on August 6, 1977. He adopted her twins, Christel Tia Colkley and Christopher Tomal Ryan Colkley. During his two year tour in Germany, Bill and Alvina had Justin William Walters on January 12, 1979. He returned back to Maryland and was honorably discharged from the service in 1985 and worked at the Baltimore famous Attman’s Delicatessen. Bill loved listening to music, spending time in the kitchen cooking, horseracing, going to the casino and sports, especially watching the Ravens. He treasured time with family and had a special bond with his brother Tommy. Bill was so proud and happy to become a “Pop-Pop”. He leaves to cherish his memories one son, Justin Walters and his wife, Marie; daughter Tamia Walters; Stepdaughter Christel Colkley and Stepson Christopher Colkley; three Granddaughters; Destiny Walters, Shakora Henriques, Carissa Walters; one Grandson, Justin Walters, Jr., and one Great-Granddaughter Zuri Amyrea Scott; his parents who preceded him in death, the late Arthur W. Walters, III and Lorraine E. Walters (nee Elliott). He was a dearest brother to Lawrence Walters and his wife, Lucy, Thomas Walters and his wife, Barbara, Mark Walters, Kathy Andrysiak and her husband, Jim, Susan Walters and the late Patricia Griffith. He was an uncle to Brad Hunt, Ronnie Hunt, Tony Page; and leaves to mourn a host of relatives and friends. Bill continued to have a long and loving friendship with Alvina Marie Walters until his last day. Family and friends may gather at LILLY & ZEILER INC. FUNERAL HOME, 700 S. Conkling St. Baltimore, MD 21224 on Wednesday, September 16, 2020 from 5-7 p.m. Further services and interment will take place at the Crownsville Veterans Cemetery on Wednesday , September 23,2020 at 1:45 pm. All visitors to the funeral home and cemetery must wear a mask and practice social distancing.
